Welcome to the Army Aviation Foundation
Website The Army Aviation Heritage Foundation (AAHF) is a non-profit
public educational foundation filed under section 501(c)(3) of the IRS. The Foundation is dedicated to presenting
the Army Aviation story to the American people through narrated, patriotic
flying presentations and static displays of the actual aircraft and equipment
used by the men and women who served in Army Aviation. This is
accomplished through the acquisition, restoration, and maintenance of
historic flyable army aviation aircraft representing Army Aviation. The Redstone
Chapter was formed in June of 2003.
The purpose of the chapter is to establish a group of people in the
Huntsville AL area to insure that the American public will get to meet the soldiers and learn of our
military’s legacy of service and contribution to our Country. Our military’s deeds will be recorded in history books but our
veterans will not be heard. Our military aircraft will come to rest in
museums, or stuck on poles, but they will never fly again. How then will our Country’s military legacy
live on, except in the hearts and minds of its veterans? The
Redstone Chapter of Army Aviation Heritage Foundation supports the National
Chapter’s four primary purposes: 1. Educate the American public to their military
heritage through the story of U.S. Army Aviation’s soldiers and machines. 2. Connect the American soldier to the American public
as an active, accepted, and admired member of the American family. 3. Inspire patriotism and motivate Americans everywhere
toward service to their community and Country by involving them in our
Nation’s larger military legacy. 4. Preserve authentic, flyable examples of Army
aircraft and utilize them in aerial, educational "living history"
demonstrations and presentations so that the symbols of America’s military
legacy may always remain in our skies for future generations. The Army Aviation Heritage Foundation understands that
today’s soldiers and their families are watching how America treats her
veterans. We are using veteran aviators and veteran aircraft to inspire
Americans of all generations and ensure that our Nation’s military legacy and
heritage of service are never forgotten. |
